Removing floor tile

Any covering of a floor will prematurely wear out, if it is necessary on the rough basis. Before packing of a new material it is necessary to remove a covering of a floor and to prepare a basis. However if the old vinyl, wooden, pith or tiled covering has no defects, is equal and is well attached to a floor, it is possible to lay a new covering over the old. The carpet and a carpet tile should be removed. Connecting materials do not stick to such covering.

If the wooden basis is damaged by your tools, a moisture or decay, it is necessary to remove a covering and to eliminate these defects and their reasons. Signs of defects of a floor are usually expressed implicitly but if, for example, in other rooms there are defeat traces by your tools, it is possible to assume that the floor and in the next room is damaged. If on concrete to a floor the moisture is found out, this defect, most likely, will be shown and in other room.

Methods of fastening of a covering

The way of removal of a covering depends on a method of its fastening. Carpets are beaten on corners to fixing laths by carpet nails or simply keep within on a floor. If laths fasten to a concrete floor on mastic, for its softening the fan heater is required.

The sheet vinyl covering can be pasted on corners, at doorways and on joints. If it cannot be lifted easily in a corner, knife a covering in 75 mm from a wall. The remained strip remove by means of a fan heater and a scraper. If the vinyl or wooden covering is pasted on all area, it is necessary to use a mechanical scraper.

Modern wooden coverings are carried out so that laths are pasted one to another and they are easy for tearing off.

Removing tile floor

You carry out repair in a bathroom? For certain, you already thought of how to remove an old ceramic tile. For this work is better to use a jackhammer — then this work will be executed in deadlines and with the maximum accuracy.

Unfortunately, a problem of removal of an old tile actual and today. The tile fastens on strong cement mortal, and to remove it eventually, without having spoilt a wall surface, very difficultly. The tile is usually used for a covering of walls and a floor in bathrooms and on kitchen, therefore work on its removal without tool use can occupy too much time.

Earlier when the puncher was not accessible for a wide range of consumers, the various manual tool was applied to tile removal. The hammer and a chisel was used — it drove in into a tile, thereby destroying it. This way occupied a lot of time and very often did not allow to clear a wall of the rests of a tile and cement which tightly dried on a surface ideally. Today on change to a hammer and a chisel chippers have come — they are capable to cope with this work faster, more accurately and much better. To Someone even can seem that their work reminds snowthrower — with the same carefulness from a wall all leaves extraneous that the surface became ideally equal.

Punchers are used as one of the basic tools at conducting building and installation works. Their destroying ability causes quite lawful surprise — there where other tools and technics appear powerless, jackhammers leave after themselves metal and concrete ruins, easily destroying any kinds of designs, irrespective of their durability. For a chipper there are no barriers — it copes with concrete as with oil, easily breaking off it on pieces. The asphalt covering or a ferro-concrete wall after puncher work turn to a crumb which then is easy for taking out and utilising.

But we will return to a ceramic tile which is necessary for removing from a wall. Modern models of chippers give the chance not to destroy it, and accurately to remove from a wall, without having damaged a surface. Hardly having picked up tile edge, the puncher tears off it from a wall. After dismantle such tile can be used again for facing of surfaces.
